Eligibility check — hostile-action casualties

Were you injured physically or psychologically as a result of a hostile action? You may be entitled to significant benefits from the National Insurance Institute

Who may be entitled?

  • Anyone injured physically or psychologically by a hostile action (including 7 October 2023)
  • Anyone exposed to a real danger to life in a terror incident
  • First-degree family members of casualties — under certain conditions
  • Israeli residents injured abroad by a hostile action — subject to the conditions of the law

Entitlement varies according to the circumstances of the event, the place of injury, the status of the casualty and the family relationship, and is determined by the competent authorities.

What to do before submitting a claim

Three steps that can make for a more orderly and better-founded submission

  • Get professional advice before filing

We recommend getting professional advice and an explanation of your rights before you submit any document. A mistake at the first stage can damage the claim.

  • See a psychiatrist and obtain detailed documentation

It is essential to meet a psychiatrist and to document in detail your exposure to a real danger to life in the terror incident — a detailed description is critical to recognition.

  • Collect all your medical documentation

Collect every medical document from every visit to a treating physician — including medication dispensing records and receipts for their purchase. Complete documentation means a strong claim.

A first claim usually takes between several weeks and several months, depending on the caseload and the complexity. We guide you and keep you updated at every stage.

Yes, absolutely. A committee decision can be appealed. We prepare our clients thoroughly for the appeal hearing, and in many cases we have seen 0% become a meaningful percentage with a monthly allowance.

Yes. A psychological injury — anxiety, PTSD, sleep difficulties, depression — can be recognised even without a physical injury, subject to the conditions of the law and the circumstances of the case. We guide many people who were recognised on the basis of a psychological injury alone.

We have offices in Sderot, Jerusalem, Petah Tikva and Ashkelon, with expansion planned to the north of the country. Video meetings are also possible. Office details →
